Fu_k The Zeitgeist : Electroantennogram

Fu_k The Zeitgeist’s contribution to MEANS volume 1 recently featured on the excellent “Space is the place” radio show, highlighting all involved as purveyors of wonderful taste. Electroantennogram offers a soft, subtle start with hints of early Massive Attack, then weaving and meandering along playing on the “quiet and loud” concept perfectly, Electronica doing the Grunge thing. Things change ever so slightly 2.30 minutes in to make you feel you are standing of the summit of a freshly conquered mountain looking back down from where you have walked with a sense of pride and achievement and a gulp of fresh, crisp Oxygen, Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide. The track crackles to its conclusion leaving you ready to tackle the final descent….

But before you do, I strongly urge you to check out the “Lost Between Light Years” album where this track is taken from. The opening track “Harum Scarum” has a bit of an Andy Bell’s GLOK feel to it (but actually pre dates it).

Some slightly off tempo break beats slow things down yet keep everything moving along nicely the fuzzy reverb guitar and synths sounds great together on this opener. The uptempo groove of “Starfire” has me grinning and also shaking my head with annoyance as to why I didn’t delve into this album sooner it’s brilliant. Some lovely chilled out ambient electronic guitar solo laced tracks fill the back end of the track listing perfectly.

Available on digital download and electric blue colour clear cassette with an added bonus track “Son of a Ghost” on the physical release:
